FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - FORKLIFT OPERATOR ONLINE TRAINING
Is there a minimum class size?
No. That is the wonderful thing about online training. Some companies want you to sign up all of your operators at one time.
You can do that here as well. But there are times when you need just one of two people trained, or you may be an individual
looking to enhance their knowledge and skills.
Minimum group classes keep individuals from moving forward. We can't have that.
If I have to hold training on a weekend or on multiple shifts, can Lift Truck Safety Consultants accommodate me?
On the front page of this website it states, "Where You Need Us, When You Need Us." That's exactly what we mean. we are on your job site anytime of the day including weekends and holidays. Anywhere you have an internet connection.
Will Lift Truck Safety Consultants notify our company when it is time to re-certify?
Yes we will. we will notify your company between 30 and 45 days before the training is due so that you have time to decide whether you want to use
our company again or another, and to schedule the training.
I cannot have all my operators trained at the same time. How can we handle this?
You don't need to. Train your operators at your convienience. we are her round the clock and the training should have
little to no affect on your productivity.
Does Lift Truck Safety Consultants provide ongoing support for our operators?
Yes just have them email us. We provide the same ongoing support as we will your company, your operators are more than welcome to email us at any time if they have questions or
concerns and need to get straightforward, concise, and correct information. There is no time frame attached to this service. Even if they have not recently been trained by us.
Our focus is and always will be the safety of the forklift operators their families, and the people around them.
Can our operators use all types of forklifts once they complete this safety training?
No, your operators are only allowed to operate the types of forklifts that they have been trained on received classroom training and a hands-On evaluation to show that they have are proficient with that piece of equipment.
If they have received the classroom training and your company obtains a new piece of equipment, more than likely all that will have to be done is to have the hands-on evaluation completed and their records updated. we can help in that process.
Is the hands-on evaluation required?
Yes it is. the ocean regulations state that the training is now site and equipment specific. All of your operators must receive both classroom training and a Hands-On evaluation on each type of equipment they're going to operate.
If we have a new, inexperienced operator, can he or she complete the safety class and hands-on evaluation?
More than likely. If the operator has had some previous experience, or shows an aptitude in operating the equipment, they will be certified. If however they cannot demonstrate safe operation of the equipment, we cannot certify the operator at that time. In some cases, we will have to return a week or two later to complete the training for those individuals that need time to practice. We will also give them information on how to get the practice done in a safe manner where no one is at risk.
Can our operators be evaluated on only one type of equipment even if they operate multiple types?
No, as previously stated the training is now sight and equipment specific. Each type of equipment that an
operator is going to work on they must be trained and be able to show a proficiency in operating that equipment.
So if there are multiple types of equipment on the job, they must receive a hands on evaluation on each type.
Who in our company should be trained?
Anyone who operates the forklift. that includes full-time, part-time, seasonal, temporary, and even management.
What other material or supplies will my company need to purchase after the training?
Nothing. the truck safety consultants will provide operator manuals, exams, critique forms, Hands-On evaluation forms, completion certificates,
wallet cards, and follow up documentation for the company. there is no charge for any of this. It is all built in to the per person cost of training.
How often do we need to have our operators repeat the training?
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards state that all operators must repeat the training every 36 months or in case of an accident.
If Lift Truck Safety Consultants re-trains our operator later, will they receive a condensed version of the training they received before?
No they will receive the same training as they did before. We believe that if we water down the training the second time it tells the operators that the training is not important.
This training is extremely important if it's not done properly it can cause serious injuries or death.
We will always deliver the same high quality service every time.
I've talked to a company that tells me that they can provide the training at their location, but they did not mention the hands-on evaluation portion of the training. Can they do this?
They are not supposed to. even if they provide a Hands-On training on their equipment at their location it is still not in keeping with the OSHA regulations. OSHA State specifically the training is now site and equipment specific.
unfortunately if it is found out that they did not follow the standards, your company will still be held responsible for the training and can possibly put face severe fines.
